It All Begins With You!
Volunteers play a vital role in our efforts to accomplish our mission. Most likely you yourself have arthritis or someone you know does. By volunteering with the Oklahoma Chapter you will be helping the 797,000 Oklahomans with arthritis and related diseases live fuller, healthier, more active lives.
Here are some examples of how you can help:
Arthritis Ambassador
Be trained to provide presentations about arthritis and the Chapter's programs at community health fairs and various facilities. Brochures, flyers and other materials will be provided.
Advocacy & Public Policy
Volunteers work towards addressing and improving public policy issues and decisions that influence arthritis and the Foundation.
Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program Instructor
Volunteers are needed to lead warm water exercise program led by trained instructors, designed to help individuals with arthritis to move better, increase joint flexibility and ease pain.
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program Leader
Volunteers are trained to facilitate land exercise programs. This exercise program designed specifically for people with arthritis that uses gentle activities to help increase joint flexibility and range of motion and to help maintain muscle strength.
Arthritis Foundation Self-Help Program Instructor
Become a trained leader who can teach people positive steps to take control of their arthritis through this six-week course.
Support Group Leader
Leaders are trained to provide educational, emotional and social support to people with arthritis in the community.
Arthritis Walk Team Captain
Help increase the awareness of arthritis by getting involved in your community. Raise funds that are necessary to support arthritis research, education, and training.
