Kids Have a Blast at Juvenile Arthritis Camp!

January 17, 2008

The Arthritis Foundation, Oklahoma Chapter's annual Camp J.A.M., Juvenile Arthritis and Me, was held July 6-10, 2007, in Guthrie at the Oklahoma Christian Camp and Counseling Center.  This year's theme was "Cruisin' Down the Nile" and featured many exciting activities from dance night in the "great pyramid" to creating papyrus. The kids entered their well rehearsed skits in the talent show and demonstrated their acting and singing skills for an excited audience.  The campers also enjoyed swimming, fishing, canoeing, paddleboats, and arts & crafts.

Camp J.A.M. is a great opportunity for kids with arthritis to meet other children dealing with the same chronic illness and daily challenges. Many friendships were made, as well as a lifetime of memories.

All of the children attended Camp J.A.M. for free thanks to a generous donation from the Parman Foundation. If you have or know of a child who has juvenile arthritis and are interested in learning more about Camp J.A.M., please call the Arthritis Foundation, Oklahoma Chapter at 405-936-3366 or 1-800-627-5486.
