Vic DiPilla of the Christ Hospital to be Honored at the Arthritis Foundation Bone Bash

The fourth annual Arthritis Foundation Bone Bash presented by The Christ Hospital will be held on October 24, 2009 at Verdin Bell Event Center. The costume gala will honor Vic DiPilla, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Christ Hospital. DiPilla will be honored for his outstanding commitment to the arthritis community. DiPilla has played a pivotal role in advancing the Arthritis Foundation public health reach locally through the expansion of educational programs for people with arthritis.
“Vic DiPilla has shared his time, energy and critical thinking skills with the Arthritis Foundation for a number of years,” said Barbara C. Perez, CEO/President of the Arthritis Foundation Ohio River Valley Chapter. “His leadership and support has played an invaluable role in strengthening our delivery of services to people with arthritis and furthering our efforts to raise funds in support of arthritis research, advocacy programs and public health initiatives,” said Perez.
The festive gala includes a gourmet dinner, live auction, games and live music from local band, Snidely Whiplash. Paul and Pam Sturkey serve as Co-Chairs of the Bone Bash and committee members include Tricia Landthorn Gvozdanovic, Tony Scalia, Sarah Weber, Amy Storer-Scalia, Sue Willis and Sherry Hodge.

Proceeds from the Bone Bash will support the Arthritis Foundation Ohio River Valley Chapter. The Arthritis Foundation helps individuals take control of arthritis by providing public health education, pursuing public policy and legislation, conducting evidence-based exercise programs to improve the quality of life for those living with arthritis and investing in vital research. In 2008, over 8,000 Chapter residents participated in Arthritis Foundation exercise programs and over 2,200 Chapter residents served as arthritis advocates raising awareness of arthritis related legislation.
