The Arthritis Foundation, New York Chapter hosts a wide range of special events to raise both awareness and funds for this devastating disease. They include: 

 

 

Arthritis Walk: The signature event of the Arthritis Foundation is a fun-filled 3.1 mile walk, with a 1-mile option, complete with entertainment, education and camaraderie! Take the first step to becoming involved by clicking here to find the Walk site closest to you.

 

Dedicated Dad Awards Reception:  Join us as we celebrate local men who successfully balance work, community service and the critical demands of fatherhood!

Annual Queens Leaders’ Awards Reception: Join us at our 16^th annual reception in October 2010 when we will honor local corporate, community and physician leaders in the borough of Queens.  Click here to view photos from the 2009 Awards Reception and to learn more about this annual event.

 

Soiree For JRA: Although surprised to learn that arthritis affects 46 million Americans, most people are amazed to know that nearly 300,000 of those people are children! The “Soiree” reception, conducted by the JRA Heroes family group, raises awareness about children and arthritis and raises funds earmarked to support juvenile arthritis research and child-friendly programs; click here to learn more. 

Annual Brooklyn Leaders’ Awards Reception: Join us at our 21^st annual reception in September 2010, when we will honor local corporate, community and physician leaders in the borough of Brooklyn.  Click here to view photos from the 2009 Awards Reception and to learn more about this annual event.

Women of Distinction Awards Reception: Although Arthritis can affect anyone, regardless of race, gender or age, substantially more women are diagnosed with Arthritis than men. Coping with Arthritis is of particular importance for women, who often are juggling work, family, and a variety of social responsibilities. The 2010 Women of Distinction luncheon will take place on Friday, March 12, 2010 at The University Club New York.  Click here for additional information about the luncheon.

 

Jingle Bell Run/Walk: The Jingle Bell Run/Walk is a national event for the Arthritis Foundation where people come together to run, walk and raise money to help fight arthritis.  It is more than just a 5K run/walk, it’s a festive, holiday-themed event with awards, costume contests, entertainment and lots of fun surprises.  Click here to find a Jingle Bell Run/Walk near you. 

Annual Golf Classic: Putt with a purpose!  Each player enjoys 18 holes of golf, a barbeque lunch, an open bar with hors d’oeuvres, a lavish buffet dinner and the opportunity to compete for an array of fabulous prizes. The Founders' Award Gala: This year's Gala being held on Tuesday, November 24, at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan, is now in its 26^th consecutive year.  A festive event, which honors business luminaries and distinguished members of the New York medical community, is the centerpiece event for the New York Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.  To learn more about participating in the Chapter's most prestigious evening of the year please click here to view the invitation and here to view the reply card.
