Now Is the Time To Take Action!
The New York Chapter has created an advocacy network to help us achieve our legislative goals. Arthritis Advocates in Action will voice their opinions and build relationships with lawmakers who support our legislative agenda. As a member of Arthritis Advocates in Action, YOU can:
- Visit legislators in Washington, D.C., Albany, and your community;
- Testify at public hearings;
- Represent the Chapter at coalition meetings;
- Participate in the Chapter's letter-writing campaigns;
- Help individuals access resources in their communities through our "Resources for Arthritis" program.
Act NOW to join!
To become an Arthritis Advocate in Action, call: (212) 984-8712 or email: info.ny@arthritis.org. We will provide advocacy training for all or our Arthritis Advocates in Action. And by acting together, we will help improve the millions of lives affected by arthritis!
How You Can Help
The Arthritis Foundation promotes government and private sector action to improve the lives of the 43 million Americans living with arthritis. But we need your help to get more government funding for arthritis research, to encourage early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment, and to improve access to quality health care for everyone with arthritis.
Visit our Advocacy Section for tools you need to become informed about the issues and to make your voice heard. You will find issue "backgrounders," Arthritis Foundation position statements, as well as links to other Web sites that may be helpful.
