Volunteering With the Arthritis Foundation

Nearly 750,000 Mississippians have a form of arthritis: one in six persons and one in three families are affected by this disease. With the aging population, these numbers are expected to increase dramatically by the year 2020.

The Arthritis Foundation is more than just members...we are about people -people who need our programs, services, support and education, and people who commit their time and resources to the accomplishment of the Foundation's mission. Behind every research project, education program, and dollar contributed to the Arthritis Foundation is a person living with this disease. The face of each person with arthritis represents a life story and experience challenged by the presence of rheumatic disease.

A vital part of our mission begins with you. Indeed, it all begins with you! Working together we can ensure that those who already have arthritis, and those who will be confronted with the pain and limitations of the disease, are able to maintain an active lifestyle and participate fully in work, family, recreation, and society. We will change lives in these ways because of you -- our volunteers and contributors.
