The Event

The Arthritis Walk is the Arthritis Foundation's signature event that takes place in communities nationwide to raise funds and awareness to fight arthritis, the nation's number one cause of disability.  The event kicks off each May during National Arthritis Month.

The Arthritis Walk features a three-mile and one-mile course with activities for the entire family.  Participants walk in honor of a friend or family member with arthritis, while those with arthritis wear blue hats to signify their action in taking control of their condition.

Why Walk?
The prevalence of arthritis or chronic joint symptoms is now surging, affecting 1 in 5 adults and 300,000 children.  This team-focused event is a fun and effective way to support the Arthritis Foundation in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.

The Walkers
Close to 100,000 walkers in teams of 10 or more participate each year and help raise money to directly support critical arthritis research, health education and government advocacy programs to help people take greater control of arthritis.  In many areas, pet owners are invited to bring their leashed dogs to walk with them at the event.   Walkers who raise $100 or more earn an Arthritis Walk T-shirt and those raising over $250 are eligible for fabulous prizes
