    2009 ARTHRITIS WALK TOP FUNDRAISERS

Congratulations on a successful event! 2009 marks the best Arthritis Walk year in chapter history thanks to your hard work and support. The Metropolitan Washington Chapter would especially like to thank the following individuals who broke through barriers to raise the most money for their local Arthritis Walk.  WAY TO GO!

1st Place:  HAL'S ANGELS LED BY HALLIE LANCZ

Hallie raised nearly $30,000 for this event and is not only the top Fundraiser for the DC Arthritis Walk, but the entire Chapter area!

2nd Place:  KELSEY'S CREW LED BY KELSEY PENDERGAST

 Kelsey continued to blow away the competion by raising over $12,000 for the fifth year in a row!

3rd Place:  FLYING PIGS LED BY EMILY & SOPHIE SMITH

Emily and Sophie Smith showed the power of sisterhood as they raised over $7,000 towards a cure for arthritis!

4th Place: DR. GRAETER'S TEAM LED BY JAMES GRAETER, MD

As the Arthritis Walk's Medical Honorary Chair, Dr. Graeter served as an inspirational leader within the medical community by raising almost $4,000!

5th Place: JEAN'S TIGERS  LED BY JEAN MATTIE

An Arthritis Walk veteran, Jean Mattie's tenacity allowed her to triumph through her severe arthritis pain the morning of the event and ultimately, led her to raise over $3,000!

Congratulations to Rebecca Shankman -  winner of the Fill our Gap fundraising campaign!  Rebecca rasied the most money between June 23rd and July 31st to help the Chapter reach its $190,000 fundraising goal. Because of her hard work, she will receive: 

·         A $100 gift certificate to the GAP (or another store of her choice).

·         A collection of Let’s Move Together incentive prizes.

·         Her picture on the chapter website and Facebook page.
