Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis event information

Welcome!

Did you know 46 million American adults and one in five Iowans have at least one form of arthritis? Are you or someone you know one of the more than 615,000 adults in the state of Iowa living with a form of arthritis or chronic joint pain? Arthritis is the nation's leading cause of disability, and affects not only adults, but over 300,000 children across the United States.
Last year, the Iowa Chapter donated more than $22,000 worth of free information including brochures, physician referral and resource materials to the people of Iowa. In addition, the Iowa Chapter annually gives more than $150,000 to the University of Iowa Hospitals for arthritis-related research. Within the next ten years, it is our hope we will have found a cure for rheumatoid arthritis.

FOUNDATION NEWS SPOTLIGHT

The Arthritis Foundation applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing the Arthritis Prevention, Control and Cure Act (H.R. 1283), the first comprehensive, bipartisan arthritis legislation in more than 30 years.  The legislation, cosponsored by nearly 250 members of the U.S. House of Representatives and 55 members of the U.S. Senate, addresses arthritis – the nation’s most common cause of disability that impacts one in five (46 million) Americans and 300,000 children.
