Volunteer Spotlight
Meet Jackie Strader, Volunteer Extraordinairre

My name is Jackie Stader. I’m the Chairperson for the 2009 Arthritis Walk in Toledo, Ohio.
Being the chair for this event is just one of the ways I want to support the Arthritis Foundation, not only because I suffer from arthritis myself...but I’ve also seen the effects of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis has on our grandson. He’s my inspiration and my hero.
Personally I know the pain Arthritis sufferers endure each day and I know my heart breaks a little more each time I think and worry about the effects this disease will have on our grandson and the 300,000 other youths who suffer from JRA as well.
Arthritis isn’t just a disease of the elderly...I’m only 50 and have suffered for years as a result of an auto accident 19 years ago...our grandson is just 7. The ages and faces of the 46 million Americans diagnosed with Arthritis are widespread. And so my goal is that we will as a joint community effort raise the funds needed to continue the research for the most common cause of disability in this country.
My dreams are that research will soon find the cure for this devastating condition, while in the mean time we develop better medications and methods to reduce the painful effects for all those who suffer, including our pets.
Please join me and all the Toledo Teams and Let’s Move Together in support of the Annual Arthritis Walk.
See you at the Arthritis Walk,
Jackie Stader
