Q&A with Volunteer Lee Peal-Lee

How did you get started volunteering with the Arthritis Foundation? I got started through the Arthritis Walk. A neighbor of mine told me about the Walk the year before and I wanted to do it. I started a team the following year called Rachel’s Angels to honor daughter Rachel who was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at age 3.
What have you been involved in? I was one the Silver Ball Committee and the Jingle Bell Run Committee. I think the best contribution I gave was getting Express Scripts involved with the Foundation with Silver Ball and possibly Cabin Fever.
Why continue? I want to do whatever I can to fund research to find a cure for arthritis to help children like Rachel and my mom was always very involved with charities and I want to continue that.
What the staff says about Lee: “Lee takes the time to go out face to face and meet with people and she is so passionate. If I need help I know I can count on her and its going to get done,” Jason Finney, Chapter sports events specialist.
“Lee is willing to jump in to any event. She has creative ideas and volunteers most of the time before we even have a chance to ask,” Karen Samsel, Chapter community development specialist.
