Meet Ali Decker, the 2009 Jingle Bell Run Honoree

"It was heartbreaking for her family to watch their energetic child not have the energy, strength or mobility that she had a month earlier...but, Ali has never let her arthritis interfere with school, sports, work or her social life." Click here to read more about Ali's story.

Why raise money?

In addition to being a fun event for local families, the Jingle Bell Run raises money that helps the Central Ohio Chapter fund programs and services that assist people in 25 counties. Arthritis affects 486,000 people in central Ohio, including 5,000 children statewide. Over 70 million people nationwide (1 in 5 Americans) have one of the 100 forms of arthritis. It is the number one cause of disability in the U.S. The Arthritis Foundation provides programs and services to assist them in taking control of their disease as well as funding research for a cure.

The Central Ohio Chapter provides the following programs and services to those living with the pain of arthritis:

  • Home Assessment and Equipment Loan

  • Exercise Classes

  • Self Help and Support Groups

  • Public and Professional Education and Referral Service

  • Camp for Children with Arthritis

  • Arthritis Foundation Membership

  • Volunteer Opportunities

Proceeds benefit the Arthritis Foundation, Central Ohio Chapter.
