We provide this Arthritis Specialist List as a resource for individuals seeking a physician specializing in the treatment of arthritis. If you consult with a physician on this list, please let him or her know that you learned about them through the Arthritis Foundation, Alabama Chapter.

 The physicians included in this list have advised us that they are licensed in the state of Alabama to practice medicine, qualified to treat patients with arthritis, and meet the criteria established by the Arthritis Foundation’s Medical and Scientific Committee for inclusion. The inclusion of a physician on this list should not be interpreted as an endorsement by the Arthritis Foundation of his or her qualifications or competency. Inclusion on this list is voluntary, and the list may not be comprehensive.  We cannot evaluate the professional qualifications and competence of individual physicians.

 Since some insurance plans restrict coverage to certain physicians, we suggest that you contact your insurance carrier to determine if you are covered for care by specific physicians on this list. We also suggest that you ask about the fee schedule when you first call a new physician.  Some do not accept patients on Medicaid or Medicare, for example, and it is important for you to know that if you are eligible for those benefits.  Please check with their office to find out if patients are being seen at other locations.
