Valley Elementary/Valley Intermediate School Holds Trick or Treat Trot / Fun Run

The 5th annual Valley Elementary/Valley Intermediate School Trick or Treat Trot (a one-mile fun run) was held October 20 at 9:00 a.m. at
"We started this run when one of our kindergarten students was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis as a way to bring awareness to our students that arthritis is not just an disease that impacts older persons, but instead can afflict anyone of any age,” said Ginger Aaron, the school’s physical education teacher. “We use this as a platform to teach acceptance, diversity, and compassion to our students. Through this event we have created a very close relationship with the Arthritis Foundation.
The Run for Arthritis School Program is available for your school. Participating schools have the option of keeping 20% of funds raised through the Run for Arthritis Program for their schools. For more information, contact the Arthritis Foundation, Alabama Chapter at info.al@arthritis.org.
