The Alabama Chapter offers educational and support programs throughout the year for children and teens with arthritis or rheumatic diseases and their families.

Camp M*A*S*H is an educational and recreational family camp, focusing on the needs of children with juvenile arthritis and rheumatic diseases.
Thanks to generous donors, camp is provided at no cost to immediate family (ages 4 – 18).
Camp activities include peer discussion groups, special speakers, recreational activities for teens and children, and separate educational sessions for parents with noted experts in the field of juvenile arthritis.
Deadline for registration is July 7th (no exceptions)!

JA National Conference

The National Juvenile Arthritis Conference is a way to make valuable educational presentations and activities available to families. Studies have demonstrated that family retreats improve children’s emotional functioning and decrease strain on the family.
Other benefits that can be gained by attending one of these conferences include:
- Increased communication among parents, teachers, and school administrators
- Increased peer and social support
- Increased access to a wide variety of health professionals and the latest medical information
- Development of advocacy skills
Run for Arthritis - a statewide educational fundraising program for Elementary & Middle Schools
To heighten awareness that thousands of children in our state are affected by arthritis, the Alabama Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation offers an event called Run for Arthritis. This program also promotes health & fitness for Elementary and Middle School aged-children while giving back to schools who participate.
