Joints in Motion, the Arthritis Foundation's world-class marathon training program, is currently forming teams for the Mercedes Marathon and Half Marathon in Birmingham, Alabama on Sunday, February 8, 2004.

You can join the Joints in Motion team right now. The Mercedes Marathon includes a $75 registration fee that goes toward your fundraising efforts.

Mercedes Marathon

The Mercedes Marathon will be the Nation's Premiere Running weekend in 2004! The Marathon provides great southern hospitality with a beautiful running course. Spectators from around the U.S including the locals will greet athletes as they run the course. The city of Birmingham is also gaining worldwide recognition. Birmingham will be the home ofor the 2004 U.S. Men's Marathon Olympic Team Trials! Our Nation's best will compete for spots on the 2004 Olympic Marathon Team –Saturday, February 7, 2003.

The Joints in Motion team has a fundraising goal of $1000. Enjoy the new course and the same great atmosphere.

The Course

The Mercedes Marathon course goes through beautiful residential and historic areas. The course has been redesigned and improved. The course is also less demanding, so finish times are certain to be faster. While easier on your legs, the courses will be more scenic and spectator friendly.

Marathon Package

The Mercedes Marathon includes the entry fee and a two night (weekend) stay at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel (the start & finish line). The participants will also receive Joints in Motion t-shirt, singlet, jacket, and special Joints in Motion amenity! There will also be a post race party hosted by Jim n' Nicks. All official Mercedes Marathon & Half Marathon finishers will be eligible to win a Mercedes M-Class!
