Arthritis Internet Registry
Would you like to help researchers find more effective treatments and maybe even a cure for your arthritis?
All you need to do is fill out a few questionnaires to help advance scientific discovery!
The Arthritis Internet Registry (AIR) is a new research project where scientists learn about your experience with arthritis through questionnaires over the internet – how it affects your daily activities, the treatments you use, and all medical events that may happen to you, even if not apparently related to your arthritis.

If you have rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, or any other rheumatic disease, you can help! By telling us about your treatments, symptoms and how you manage your illness, you can make an important difference in advancing care. From your own home, using a computer questionnaire (or a postage-paid paper one if you prefer), you can help advance research – without changing your treatment or making a medical visit.
We also hope to understand if there is information doctors can use from your blood to help determine which treatments may help the most or even if there are ways of helping others know if they have a greater chance of getting arthritis in advance so they can take greater preventative care. If you are willing, we may also ask you to go to a local laboratory to have a sample of your blood drawn – free of charge.
This study is being run, in-part, by the experts at the National Data Bank for Rheumatic Diseases (NDB), a non-profit research group founded by master rheumatologist Dr. Fred Wolfe in 1998. There is no charge or obligation ever for joining and participating in the AIR study. This study is run by doctors working directly on rheumatic disease research and care. You will be able to read the full research results, and you’ll also receive a newsletter summarizing this work twice a year.
When you click on the button below you'll be taken to the secure NDB website where you can learn more about and enroll in the AIR study. There is no obligation to offer any information that you don't want to, but the more the scientists know about you, the better the research results will be.
