New York -- With a recent grant of $58,500, New York City leaders have opened the doors to more disease management programs for New Yorkers with arthritis and have strengthened the foundation for further expansion of these services. Since 2003 the New York City has provided the New York Chapter with a total of $175,000 for arthritis programs. This latest allocation was secured through the efforts of New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn and 1st District Council Member Alan J. Gerson, both historic advocates of the importance of Chapter programs in the city’s public health agenda.
