New Ambassador Orientation: Presentation (If unable to load, try this PDF version)
- Ask your Representative to attend your local Jingle Bell Run.
- Email details to your Representative's Health Legislative Assistant and (if you know them) Press Secretary first and follow-up with a phone call one week later.
- Report your activity on www.arthritis.org/report (instructions and guide below).
If your Representative agrees to attend a Jingle Bell Run:
- Notify the Arthritis Foundation staff associated with your Jingle Bell Run (click to download JBR staff directory).
- Email email@example.com and let us know your Representative will be participating!
- Visit arthritis.org/report and complete the task labeled "Bonus 12".
If you do not have a Jingle Bell Run in your state or within driving distance:
Ask your local Arthritis Foundation field office what upcoming fundraising event they would like to invite your legislator to attend. Make the same request to your legislator as above, but for the event specified by your local office.

Improve upon this sample email by sharing with the legislator pictures from your last Jingle Bell Run, details about the event, and invite them to join your team!

I hope this email finds you well. I'm writing today to invite Representative [last name] to attend the Arthritis Foundation's Jingle Bell Run/Walk on [insert date] at [location] in [city]. We would love to see the Representative out at the event, helping to raise awareness about the great work [s]he is doing to combat America's leading cause of disability. If the Representative is interested, we would also welcome the opportunity to have [him/her] speak to the event participants prior to the start. If the Congress[wo]man is interested and available, I will happily place you or any relevant local staff in contact with the local Arthritis Foundation staff responsbile for the event coordination.

In order for the Arthritis Foundation to reach our public policy objectives, it is critical that we monitor and track legislative activity and relationships. For this reason, and so that you may be recognized for your efforts, Ambassadors must report in their assignment acitivity.
