The world’s leading authorities on osteoarthritis gathered in Chicago in October for the Arthritis Foundation’s 5th Segal North American Osteoarthritis Workshop (SNOW V). SNOW has become one of the world’s premier, strategic meetings on OA.
Arthritis researchers from North America and Europe were on hand to present new osteoarthritis studies that could lead to better ways to detect, treat, prevent and cure osteoarthritis (OA).
The title of this year’s workshop theme was “The Role of Joint Mechanics and Biology in Osteoarthritis: Pathogenesis and Implications for New Interventions.” Scientists focused on the joint as an organ and OA as a disease process, not just a side-effect of ageing.
