2 Advocates to Serve At the Dept. of Defense's New Arthritis Research Program

Congratulations to Drs. Laura Robbins and Jan Wyatt for earning positions on the DOD's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program's Osteoarthritis Review Panel as consumer reviewers for grant applications. The Arthritis Foundation advocated these new arthritis research dollars and on behalf of Drs. Robbins and Wyatt.

 2 Nominated for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute
The Arthritis Foundation will nominate our own CEO, Dr. John Klippel, and Ms. Debra Lappin, JD of B & D Consulting for consumer advocacy positions at the Board of Governors on Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCOR). PCOR was recently established by the new health care law and will manage the government's investment in comparative effectiveness research (CER).  To learn more about CER, click here.

Taking on the Medicare Donut Hole: Checks in the Mail

Checks are in the mail or on their way for Medicare beneficiaries in the donut hole. The $250 rebate is one of the first benefits of the new health care law. By 2020 nobody will pay more than 25% of the cost of any drugs, including biologics, in the donut hole. Please call Medicare at 1-800-633-4227 or read here for more information.
