
Can’t Make it to DC? Attend our Virtual Summit!
Check back on March 3rd to participate in the Arthritis Foundation’s Virtual Summit. Join advocates virtually in DC through two live streaming sessions at the 15th Annual Arthritis Foundation Advocacy Summit. The first 25 online participants for each session will receive a FREE Faces of Arthritis shirt!
- Monday, March 4th from 3-4PM Eastern: From Discovery to Drugs: How today’s research evolves into tomorrow’s treatments
Follow the journey from microscope to drug development to patient hands. Learn just what it takes to get an idea to become a treatment. During the session, leaders at the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration will discuss the latest methods for turning research into real solutions for people with arthritis. Speakers will engage in an interactive Q&A session with local and online participants. Join at www.arthritis.org/virtual-summit.
- Tuesday, March 5th from 8:30-12PM Eastern: Arthritis Advocacy 101
Ever wondered what it takes to make Congress act? Learn from Washington’s leading lobbyists how to effectively influence your legislators and create lasting change on Capitol Hill. Participate and follow the action in DC including a live Instagram and Twitter stream, guest bloggers, and the chance to email your elected officials about important arthritis-related legislative issues on the Virtual Advocacy Summit page. The live stream will also be available on mobile devices!
In addition to live streaming, the Virtual Summit will include a live advocate blog from the Summit, a feed of advocate photos captured on Capitol Hill, and the opportunity to share your story with Congress and echo our message: ignoring arthritis is unacceptable.

Cancellation/Substitution/Refund Policy
Full refunds will be granted to requests received in writing by mail prior to February 1st. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing.
Meeting With Your Members of Congress and/or Their Staff
Congressional meetings will be scheduled by the Arthritis Foundation for all Advocacy Summit participants to ensure that all participants from a Congressional district or state attend the meetings together. Please DO NOT schedule your own meetings! Congressional meetings will be scheduled in the afternoon on Tuesday, March 5th from 2:30pm-5:30pm and on Wednesday, March 6th between the hours of 9:30am-4:00pm. Please be available during these times for Congressional meetings. Do not arrange travel before 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 6th. FLIGHT TIMES SHOULD BE 6:00 PM or LATER.
Please notify the Public Policy and Advocacy Department if you have a special relationship with a particular Member of Congress and would like to have a meeting in that office. Attire
Business attire is appropriate for visiting Members of Congress and staff on Capitol Hill. Remember that you will be walking a lot, especially on Capitol Hill, so wear comfortable shoes. Temperatures tend to vary in hotel rooms; a jacket or sweater is advised. Also, you may want to bring an umbrella in case of rain. Temperatures in Washington, D.C., in March average a high of 57 and a low of 37.
