Children’s Health Day
The Arthritis Foundation, Indiana Chapter, was proud to be a part of the first annual Children’s Health Day on February 11, 2004.  Children from all over the state, representing the Arthritis Foundation and 8 other health charities, gathered at the State Capital building to be a page for a day, learn about the legislative process and raise awareness to the state legislators.  The day began by talking about issues that were important to kids and questions they would like to ask their representative.  After getting a tour of the Senate, Judicial, and House of Representative Chambers, the kids listened in on a Public Health Committee meeting and met with their representative.  It was then time for page assignments, lunch and a scavenger hunt.  The day ended with the pages writing thank you letters to their sponsoring senator.  It was a very busy day and the pages went home with lots of goodies, new friendships, and tired feet!
