2010 Advocacy and Kids' Summit Stipend Application
The Arthritis Foundation Public Policy and Advocacy Department is offering stipends to attend the 2010 Advocacy and Kids' Summit in Washington, DC, March 1-3. Stipends will be available for volunteers who reside in the key congressional districts listed below. Stipends are limited to $1,000 for an individual or $1,200 for a family (a family is considered a parent(s) and child(ren) age 18 and under).
Applicants must meet the minimum requirements outlined below to qualify for the stipend. Priority consideration will be given to existing Arthritis Ambassadors. Everyone who submits an application will be notified no later than January 14, 2010 if they were selected or not.

- Recipients must be members of the Arthritis Foundation Advocacy Network. Priority consideration will be given to existing Arthritis Ambassadors.
- Recipients will be reimbursed up to $1,000 for an individual or $1,200 for a family AFTER the Advocacy Summit and after submitting their RECEIPTS to the AF Public Policy and Advocacy Department.
- Recipients are expected to register themselves for the Summit, pay the appropriate registration fee, and make their own travel and hotel arrangements.
- Recipients must participate in all Summit activities and participate in all Capitol Hill meetings scheduled on their behalf.
- Recipients must actively engage in grassroot advocacy activities in their congressional district and state following the Advocacy Summit.
- Arthritis Foundation Chapter/Region Chairpersons and Arthritis Foundation staff are not eligible to receive these volunteer stipends.
