Public Policy and Advocacy Internship
Position Description:
The Arthritis Foundation Public Policy and Advocacy Department in Washington, D.C. is seeking an intern for the Summer semester. This internship will provide a student with practical, hands-on-experience working for a non-profit patient advocacy organization. The Department focuses on federal advocacy, policy analysis, issue tracking, and training and support for our grassroots advocates.
Internship Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Preparations for Capitol Hill advocacy days, including accompanying advocates to the Hill;
• Public policy issue research, legislative tracking, monitoring, and reporting;
• Working with interactive web team in updating content and advocacy communications on web site;
• Assist in developing and planning Capitol Hill awareness events; and
• Opportunities to attend coalition meetings, Congressional hearings and other federal agency meetings.
