The Program and Services Director will be responsible for the initiation and management of programs and services as well as the cultivation of volunteers and donors to ensure mission delivery.  Position will increase awareness of the Arthritis Foundation in assigned communities with the delivery of public educational programs and services such as Public Forums, Health Fairs, Speaker’s Bureau, Life Improvement Series, Advocacy and Juvenile Arthritis initiatives.  Position will work collaboratively with Development and Services associates in the cultivation of relationships with current Life Improvement Series facilities representatives, partnering businesses, medical community, volunteers and constituents affected by arthritis

RELATIONSHIP AND CONTACTS

Within Foundation
Maintains frequent and close working relationships with Regional Vice President, Programs and Services, Information Services Coordinator, Development and Services Directors and Coordinators, and other regional staff.

Outside Foundation
Maintains relationships with program facilities contacts, instructors, trainers, advisory board members, business and community partners/leaders, volunteers, media representatives, public, etc to promote programs and services delivery.
 
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education or related field plus three to five years experience in a health related field, arthritis experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous experience working with children and their families, and members of the medical community required. Must have program development, project management experience, volunteer management experience along with program evaluation skills and ability to manage and motivate volunteers.  Experience working in a voluntary health agency helpful.  Must be able to travel frequently (at least 50% of the time) to assigned communities.  Some overnight travel may be required.
