Oversight and management of the Foundation’s strategic plan for the region. Accountable to the Board of Directors for planning and directing mission delivery and income development within the Northeast Region. Provides leadership and direction to field offices and the thrift shop. Ensures compliance with organizational standards and conditions set forth in the region’s charter. Serves on the National Office President’s CEO Cabinet to assure alignment of regional plans and operations with nationwide strategic objectives.
Responsible for managing the Northeast Region Human Resources and Financial systems through the development of an annual budget and plan of operations. These activities are conducted in partnership with the Regional Board. The President and CEO will oversee a staff of 11 professional and support staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides strategic leadership and direction to the Regional Board and staff to develop organizational goals and assure they are understood and achieved.
- Oversees the development of an annual program plan and budget to assure financial growth and strategic program delivery within the region.
- Assures that organizational standards and policies are met and implemented in partnership with the Board of Directors.
- Assures that there are appropriate staff and operational systems in place to facilitate the operations of the region.
- Accountable for the financial security and integrity of the region.
- Provides guidance and oversight of all field offices within the region and the thrift shop to develop a strong presence in the community.
- Meets with and cultivates major gift donors.
- Participates in all Board Meetings and subcommittee activity including the Board Development, Budget & Finance, Investment, Audit, Human Resources and Executive Committees and is the public face of the Foundation.
- Assures that a region-wide volunteer recruitment program is in place to enhance, attract and retain community based volunteers serving on chapter and regional levels.
- Assures appropriate technologies to enhance operational efficiency and program delivery.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning and management.
- Experience in nonprofit and volunteer driven organizations; nonprofit health experience a plus.
- Strategic thinker with strong ability to build collaborative relationships and strategic alliances internally and externally.
- Knowledgeable in fund raising and ability to cultivate major gift donors.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Manage multi-office locations.
- Volunteer leadership development pipeline.
- Assure the integrity, transparency, oversight and monitoring of all financial reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding programmatic results.
- Comprehensive understanding and ability to articulate the region’s educational programs and services as well as fund raising activities.
- Legal oversight of lease and contract negotiations.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, public health, public administration or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
