The Community Development Manager team identifies recruits, cultivates, and trains volunteers to implement annual development/fundraising plans in their local market.  Coordinates with staff and volunteers selected to support these events and activities.

Focuses on specifically assigned priority community development programs, including, but not limited to, Arthritis Walks, and Jingle Bell Runs.  May also elect, in consultation with Development Team management, to initiate other fundraising activities such as Golf Tournaments, Galas, “Bone Bashes”, etc. and /or other revenue generating Special Events that may be adopted.

May participate in and/or oversee Foundation Grant development, foundation and sponsor fundraising, or other development related assignments as appropriate.

Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of nonprofit work experience and education.  Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant nonprofit development/fundraising experience required. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to achieve results through the coordination of the efforts of staff and volunteers. Detail oriented with strong time management, project management, event management, and meeting management skills.  Effective in cultivating and maintaining long-term donor/volunteer/sponsor relationships. Ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a positive, focused manner, and remain composed under stress. Proficient knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office software, internet based applications, and PC computer equipment.  Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

This position will operate out of their home location and be responsible for the full State of New Mexico.  There is also one other staff member based in New Mexico responsible for the delivery of Mission Programs and Services.
