POSITION SUMMARY

The Interactive Marketing Manager manages and facilitates the implementation of an enterprise-wide digital media strategy at the Arthritis Foundation. Responsibilities include managing paid promotion across a variety of social media platforms; ensuring messaging/tone/look is consistent and coordinated across a multitude of local-level social media profiles; ensuring cross-pollination of story/content strategy; managing coordinated brand-level campaigns across the enterprise and all of its channels; working in an agile and nimble fashion to accommodate news pieces, coordinate high-priority & tight turnaround blog story promotion, and the dissemination of these stories in the social media realm; management and enforcement of social media policies and guidelines to ensure compliance across the enterprise; serving as the primary point of contact for constituents, executing brand awareness and traffic driving strategies across digital media.

 

The Interactive Marketing Manager also works closely with the Director, Digital Marketing to establish KPI’s, benchmarks and goals for growth across digital media, report on outcomes and results, and create presentations to communicate these results to key stakeholders in the organization. Strong writing skills are a must, as is expertise in leveraging major social media networks in both an organic and paid environment. This position will also be called on to support management of multi-channel digital campaigns throughout the year.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work collaboratively with members of Marketing & Communications teams and other team members across the enterprise to ensure visibility and coverage on high priority areas of the organization:
    • Champions activities and needs of key areas and ensure their inclusion on the content calendar
    • Participate in planning, management and workflow of social media strategies to ensure their successful delivery.
    • Schedule and hold regular meetings and provides consultation with internal clients to enhance their presence in social realm
  1. Create and manage processes for service recovery, crisis management, and user participation in AF-sponsored online communities. Keeps an eye out for legal issues, informing management of any reasons to escalate potential problems to counsel before they happen. 
  1. Manage strategy and processes for management of day-to-day social media presence as well as key, strategic social media ad campaigns for multiple departments within the Arthritis Foundation:
    • Create fluid content calendar to ensure coverage of all key areas and initiatives, adjusting as needed to feature/prioritize key stories across all channels
    • Work with overall web team to stay coordinated with key stories and initiatives to be featured/prioritized across all channels
    • Conceive, create, and manage paid social media campaigns, and when necessary developing alternative solutions within budget
    • Develop all social media components of multi-channel campaigns. Ensure coordination amongst all campaign elements and channels
  1. Analyze and report on results for digital and social media, both paid and earned.
  1. Serve as on-site social media go-to for key Foundation events, including our annual advocacy summit, juvenile arthritis conference, annual meeting, and others.
  1. Provide training and ongoing consultation for social media channels, communities and analytics tool, social media best practices, and organizational branding in the social realm.
  1. Assist in management, planning, and execution of multi-channel digital marketing campaigns.
  1. Leverage marketing automation platform Marketo to help design and execute personalized digital campaigns by building user profiles and customizing online experiences.
  1. Provides needed support to Web site and handles special projects during heavy work periods and/or as needed.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in English, communications, marketing, project management or related field; minimum of 5 years’ experience in social media strategy and execution
  1. Working knowledge of web technologies and social media channels; ability to identify web and social media trends that will increase participation, awareness and the reach of the Arthritis Foundation and its online tools
  1. Understanding social media and organizational best practices; knowledge of tools and processes used to develop, maintain and measure social media channels
  1. Ability to manage, prioritize and track multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  1. Ability to think strategically and creatively and to work independently and collaboratively with fellow Marketing Communications and other staff/volunteers to ensure that channels and community content is integrated throughout at all levels and across all locations
  1. Ability to work with members of decentralized enterprise to achieve centralized/coordinated efforts to create a truly unified brand effort in the social realm
  1. Systems: Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe suite, Marketo marketing automation software, social media platforms/sites, blogging tools (WordPress), Web content management systems; Web site imaging (Photoshop, etc.) and statistics software (such as Radian 6, Facebook Insights, Sprout Social), and project management software. Web page layout and graphic design experience is a plus. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills required.
