Welcome to Arkansas
There are more than 50 million Americans with Arthritis - 673,000 of them live in Arkansas. The Arthritis Foundation is the Champion of Yes. We are focused on finding a cure and championing the fight against arthritis through vital information, advocacy, science and community. Our goal is to chart a winning course, guiding families in developing personalized plans for saying yes – day after day.
Open to kids with JA or other childhood rheumatic diseases who are ages 6-16.
The Arthritis Foundation gives children with arthritis the opportunity to make lifetime memories through camp. The specialty, residential juvenile arthritis summer camps focus on what campers can do, not what they can’t do. Campers are able to learn from others who have similar conditions and experiences. The program is designed to increase campers’ self-esteem by creating opportunities for them to meet personal challenges.
The camp offers most traditional summer camp activities such as campfires and singing, canoeing, fishing, arts and crafts, swimming and nature hikes. The camp also has activities that create more of a personal challenge, while adapting to children of all abilities. Some of these activities include: accessible rope challenge course and adapted archery. All of these activities create opportunities for individual accomplishment in a positive and encouraging environment.
